Frigidaire Refrigerator Control Board Test – Steps

To accurately test the control board on a Frigidaire refrigerator, do the following:

Step 1

Get a large flat-head screwdriver for pulling the board out. Also, get a digital multimeter for testing resistance.

Remove the bottom grille of the unit to gain access to the control board. If you have a bottom freezer french-door refrigerator model, pull the drawer out before removing the grille.

Step 2

Pry the housing of the main control board loose and draw it toward you in order to detach it. Next, test the voltage supply. Because you need the refrigerator to be plugged into electric power in order to carry out this test, be sure not to touch any part of the board with your bare hands.

Step 3

Set the multimeter to volts DC. that would be the V on the multimeter that has the straight and dotted lines over it.

Take the red probe of the multimeter and insert it into the harness at the top of the board, to the left. You will see five wires coming out of it; insert the probe into the second wire from the left.

Insert the black probe of the multimeter into the third wire from the left, next to the one with the probe inserted into it.

Step 4

The multimeter should register between 12 volts and 14 volts if everything is working as it should. If this is not the case, the control board may have failed.

To be sure, run the same test on the other wires and confirm that the board is receiving and delivering power to the refrigerator. Otherwise, consider replacing it.

Allow the refrigerator to remain switched off for about thirty seconds and without electric power for about five minutes. Afterward, reconnect it to power and switch it back on.

Frigidaire Freezer Control Panel Flashing H1 – Quick Fix

If you find the control panel on your Frigidaire freezer flashing h1, you need to lower the temperature in the freezer. The indicator is letting you know that the internal temperature is too high. The same applies if you see h flashing on the display.

Close the door of the freezer fully and press the temperature alarm reset button. This should mute the beeping of the alarm but the icon will stay illumined until the internal drops to a food-safe level.

This may take some time because for the error to be displayed and the alarm activated, the temperature had exceeded 26 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ensure the door stays closed and sealed tightly. Additionally, don’t hold it open for too long as it has the same effect on the refrigerator as not closing it fully.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Control Panel Locked – Solved

If the control panel of a Frigidaire refrigerator is locked, unlock it by finding the Control Lock key on the panel. You may find it beside the Light On/Off pad. Press it and hold it until the tiny LED light beside the lock goes off.

If unlocking it the conventional way does not work, disconnect the refrigerator from electric power, wait about a minute, and plug it back into power. Then, try unlocking it again.

However, if the panel still does not work, you may need to replace the board that controls it. Contact Frigidaire to report the issue and request service.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Temperature Control Problems – How to Fix

If your Frigidaire refrigerator is having a hard time maintaining the set temperature, clean the condenser coils and the compressor. Dirty coils and compressors build heat easily which compromises the refrigerator’s internal temperature. So clean them at least once a year.

However, if cleaning them does not solve the problem, consider resetting or adjusting the set temperatures of both sections – 37 degrees Fahrenheit for the refrigerator and 0 degrees Fahrenheit for the freezer.

If the problem continues, check the door gasket for proper sealing. Use the dollar trick where you close the door of each compartment on a dollar bill and try pulling it out. If you can, replace the gasket.

Consider how often you close and open the doors. Also, consider the amount of food you store in the unit each and whether or not you put hot food in it. Additionally, look at the air vents. They should be open and nothing should obstruct them.

If all of the above doesn’t fix the problem, then there may be something wrong with the temperature controls. You may have to replace them. Contact Frigidaire or a trusted appliance technician for this job.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Temperature Control Flashing 4 – Quick Fix

When there is no power supply to the damper control in the refrigerator, you see the error code 4. Make sure the voltage going to the damper is up to 120vac. If it is, the damper needs a replacement because it is malfunctioning even though it is getting enough power.

But if the voltage is not enough, then the main control board is the problem. It is no longer sending the required amount of voltage to the damper. Replace the board.
