How to Stop GE Fridge from Rolling

Here are simple DIY tricks to keep your fridge from rolling:

1. Level the Fridge

To level your fridge, remove the base grille from underneath the appliance, then use a screwdriver to adjust the wheels. Turn the screws clockwise to raise the wheels and anti-clockwise to lower them.

Continue adjusting the wheels until the fridge stands firmly on the floor. The front of the appliance should be a quarter-inch higher than the rear. Use a level to measure this.

This solution can work only if your unit has adjustable rollers. However, if this does not work or does not apply, try this next thing…

2. Release the Leveling Legs

Remove the base grille. The leveling legs are in the same place as the rollers. Now, turn the screws anti-clockwise using a flat head screwdriver to bring the leveling legs lower. It will raise the rollers off the floor, and the leveling legs will sit in place and level the appliance.

It is important to note here that not all GE fridges have leveling legs. So, if your appliance is one of them, try this next thing instead…

3. Place a Wedge Under the Rollers

Use a plastic furniture coaster or a piece of wood as a wedge for the rollers. It should stop your fridge from rolling.

Alternatively, you can use a rubber furniture cup. Place this on each of the wheels. If the cups are not deep enough to fit the wheels, cut them at the center. It will allow the wheels to sit deeply on them.
