LG Fridge Handle Broken – How to Fix

When a fridge door handle is broken, it isn’t usually repairable. It’s best to replace it.

To do this, you will need a 1/4 inch and a 3/32-inch Allen wrench. You will also need a new door handle to replace the broken one.

If you have assembled these, then follow the steps below:

Step 1

Disconnect the refrigerator from electric power or switch it off.

Step 2

Open the door with the broken handle. Use the 3/32- inch Allen wrench to unscrew the bolts holding the handle to the door. The bolts are located on the right side and left side of the handles.

Step 3

Detach the unscrewed handle and prepare to replace it with a new one.

Step 4

Before replacing the broken handle, ensure to tighten the support mounts on which the handle will be placed using the use of your ¼-inch Allen wrench.

The support mounts are short protruding pegs fastened to the doors of the fridge and unto which the handle screws are tightened.

Step 5

Place the handle on the support mounts, ensuring that it aligns well before making the screws tight with the 3/32-inch Allen wrench.

Step 6

Check for the efficiency of the handle by opening and shutting the door several times. Reconnect the refrigerator to the electric power supply.
