The following are the different error codes that can occur in a Westinghouse refrigerator:

tr

This error code indicates that the ice cube tray did not go above 00C when there was an ice harvest and the system tried a tray water fill. Check the water tube to be sure nothing is keeping it from working well. Also, check to be sure that the water tap is turned on and the water filter has no blockages.

When you check all of the above and they are all in good working order, then it is time to contact a qualified refrigerator technician for assistance.

Sc, Oc

If you have the ice and water Westinghouse refrigerator model and you see this error code or you see a combination of the 2nd and 4th temperature icons flashing, then there is a problem with a sensor. It is either short-circuited or has an open circuit.

You will need to locate the faulty sensor in the refrigerator and replace it. If you cannot do this on your own, contact a refrigerator repair agent for assistance.

Cr

This error code represents an error in communication if your refrigerator is an ice and water model. If you see this or you find the temperature icon on top flashing, then be aware that the control panel is no longer communicating with the main control board.

You can try to fix this by unplugging the refrigerator and leaving it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Plug it back in again. This usually resets the control panel so that it begins to function normally again. But if you do this and the error occurs again, contact a refrigerator service agent for help.

Ed

If there is a problem with the defrost sensor, this error code will appear to alert you. Otherwise, the display screen will show this: “-“

EF

This error code indicates that there is a problem with the fan motor. Check the fan motor to see if it is still running. Replace the motor if it is not.

Ec

The master PCB has failed to receive communication if you see this error code displayed. It is possible you will need to replace the PCB.

SY CF

The error code means that there is a failure in communication, probably between the main control board and the display board.

SY EF

When you see this error code, then you know the evaporator fan has failed. Check the fan motor and test its continuity between the windings. Replace the motor or the entire fan if there is no continuity or if the fan is no longer working at all.

SY CE

There is an error in communication, probably between the display and main control board, if you see this error code displayed.

OP – Normal

The sensor of the freezer section of the refrigerator is open if you see this error code displayed on the panel.

Normal – OP

This error code means that the sensor of the fresh food section of the refrigerator is open.

SH – Normal

The sensor of the freezer section of the refrigerator is shorted if you see this error code displayed on the panel.

Normal – SH

This error code means that the sensor of the fresh food section of the refrigerator is shorted.

CE

The IM lost communication if this error code is displayed on the panel. To verify this, put the refrigerator into service mode.

Er

When you see this error code, check the J4 connector located on the main control board. Also, check the J4-4, J4-5 and the J4-6 connectors located on the ice maker control board.

Additionally, check the 15 pin line connector located on the main control board. If all these connections are good yet the error code is still there, replace the main control board.

t3

Check the ice maker sensor to see if it is open or shorted if this error code appears on the display of the refrigerator.

E0

There is no error with the refrigerator if you see this error code.

E1

When you see this error code, check the sensor of the evaporator to see if it is damaged. Replace it if it is damaged.

E2

The room temperature sensor which is installed on the display board is damaged. Replace the sensor.

E4

The room temperature sensor which is installed on the power board is damaged. Replace the sensor.

E5

When you see this error code, then you know that the sensor of the 0-degree compartment is defective. Locate the sensor and replace it as soon as possible.
