How to Fix a Frigidaire Freezer Door Handle
Whether your Frigidaire freezer handle is loose or you need to replace it, here is an easy guide.
Step One
You are going to need a tape and a 3/32” Allen wrench to do this repair. So, get them together.
Step Two
Locate the set screws holding the freezer handle in place. You will find the screws on the inner side of the handle. Usually, two set screws mount the handle to the appliance.
Step Three
Use the tape to seal the door panel surface close to the screws. That will serve as protection against scratches.
Step Four
Use the Allen wrench to tighten the freezer door handle, turning the screws clockwise. However, if you want to replace the freezer door handle, unthread the screws securing the handle in place. Turn them counterclockwise to loosen them.
Step Five
Carefully remove the old door handle from its mounting plates. You may need to twist the handle before trying to pull it out from the mounting plates.
Step Six
Carefully align the holes on the new door handle to the mounting plates and fasten the screws. The screws should face downwards after tightening them. Do not forget to take off the protective tape afterward.
Step Seven
Ensure you tighten the new handle well. Open and close the freezer door to determine this. If the new door handle does not fit tightly, make the screws tighter.
