If a Samsung ice maker bucket cracked, the best solution is to replace it with a new one. This is because you cannot repair an ice bucket if it cracks; you can only replace it.

To replace the cracked bucket, do the following:

Buy a replacement ice bucket from a trusted seller. it is important to buy using the model number of your Samsung refrigerator. Doing this means getting the right part; using the wrong part can only cause more problem.

Next, take the cracked ice bucket out of the refrigerator. To do this, grab the bottom and lift it slightly before pulling it out.

If your ice bucket has a button or lever securing it, then depress it before removing the bucket. You will find the button or lever near the top of the side of the ice bucket visible to you. Do this to release the ice bucket before removing it.

Some ice maker buckets come with new latch plates. If the new one has a latch plate, loosen and remove the existing one with a screwdriver. Then, replace it with the new one.

Ensure you screw the new latch plate into position properly. After this, replace the broken bucket with the new one.

It is important to note here that when replacing the ice bucket, make sure it clicks in place. If it does not, the ice maker will continue to make ice because the ice spills out of the bucket. So there is no chance for it to rise high enough for the ice maker to detect it and stop.

If the ice bucket is not inserting properly, turn it to a somewhat different angle. Then try pushing it in again, going gently. Do not force it so as not to damage it.
