3. Dispenser Switch

Voltage flows to the dispenser through the action of the dispenser switches. Your refrigerator dispenser will remain off if the dispenser switches are defective.

To ascertain the working condition of the dispenser switches, test them for continuity using a multimeter. If the multimeter reading shows the dispenser switches do not have continuity, go for a replacement.

4. Door Switch

When you open the door of your refrigerator, the door switch triggers the water dispenser to go off. The dispenser will not work if the door switch is faulty.

As with most electrical components of your refrigerator, you can determine if the door switch is responsible for the water dispenser problems by testing it for continuity. Replace the door switch if you discover it does not have continuity.

5. Water Filter

Westinghouse Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Not Working – How to Fix

If your Westinghouse refrigerator ice dispenser is not working, inspect the following parts and replace any faulty one:

1. Water Inlet Valve

As the electrically controlled water inlet valve opens, water flows to the ice dispenser. Having a faulty water inlet valve means water will not flow to the dispenser. The same applies to having a water pressure that is not up to 20 psi. The consequence of this is that the ice maker will not be able to produce ice.

2. Ice Maker Assembly

3. Icemaker Module

After the release of ice, the module transmits power to the water inlet valve so the tray can be refilled with water.

Having a defective icemaker module means there will be no production of ice. To know if the icemaker module is causing the ice dispenser problems, check if the ejector blades are blocking the ice cubes. You can also test the icemaker module for continuity to know if it needs replacement.

4. Door Switch

The ice dispenser turns off by the action of the door switch as you open the door of your refrigerator. If the door switch breaks down, your ice dispenser will remain off.

A reliable way to know if the door switch is the root cause of ice dispenser issues is by carrying out a continuity test. You have to replace the door switch if the test results show it lacks continuity.

5. Ice Level Control Board

The Westinghouse refrigerator comes with an infrared beam to detect the ice level in the ice bucket. As the ice bucket is filled with ice, the infrared beam is triggered to shut down the ice maker.

When the level of ice goes below the infrared beam, the ice level control board triggers the ice maker to start producing ice.

7. Icemaker Switch

If the icemaker switch is faulty or got switched off inadvertently, the ice maker will stop working. If the icemaker is switched on and the icemaker is still not producing ice, test it for continuity. Replace the icemaker switch if you discover it does not have continuity.

8. Evaporator and Condenser Coils

If the freezer temperature of your Westinghouse refrigerator is above 10 degrees Fahrenheit, the unit will not produce ice. For the icemaker to produce ice properly, ensure the freezer temperature is set at a range of 0 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
