Galanz Mini Fridge Leaking Water – Why and Resolution

The following are the most common reasons your Galanz mini-fridge is leaking water and how to solve them:

1. The Refrigerator is not Leveled

The first thing to consider is if the refrigerator is leveled. This is because the refrigerator can easily rock when not balanced. This may then cause water to spill from the drip pan underneath the fridge.

Use a level to check if the fridge is balanced. If it is not, do the following to level it:

Step 1: Remove the screw holding the kick plate at the bottom of the refrigerator and take it out. If your model does not have a kick plate, skip this step.

Step 2: The leveling legs will be visible with the kick plate removed. Turn the leveling legs clockwise to raise them and counterclockwise to lower them.

Step 3: Finally, use the level to confirm that the refrigerator is properly leveled. And then put the kick plate back on.

2. Clogged Drain Tube

The drain tube can get clogged and can be the reason your Galanz refrigerator is leaking water underneath the unit. To resolve this, the tube has to be unclogged.

To do this, you simply have to locate the entrance hole of the tube inside the fridge. Insert a plumbing snake into the hole, twist, and pull out the clog. Do this until you have the tube completely free of clog.

You can now flush a mixture of baking soda and warm water down the tube to clean it. You may also choose to defrost the fridge as ice buildup may be the cause of the clog. This article is a quick guide on how to defrost your Galanz mini-fridge.

3. Cracked Drip Pan

The drip pan underneath the fridge can get cracked and begin to leak. Open the back compartment of the fridge, locate and take out the pan. Inspect the pan for crack.

If any is found, replace the pan as repairing it is not recommended.

4. Worn-out or Dirty Door Gasket

The door gasket can be dirty or worn-out and cause the fridge door not to seal off properly. When this happens, condensation will form inside the fridge and will cause a pool of water at the bottom of the fridge. Inspect the gasket, if it is dirty, then clean it using mild detergent and a dishcloth. If the gasket is worn-out then it should be replaced.

How to Replace Galanz Mini Fridge Door Gasket

Do these steps to replace the door gasket of your Galanz mini-fridge:

Step 1: Open the refrigerator door and use a putty knife or a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the top corner of the door gasket.

Step 2: Gently pull off the gasket completely by grabbing and pulling the top corner. Check the track and ensure there is no debris or remnant of the gasket on it.
