How to Reset a Westinghouse Water Filter

To reset your Westinghouse water filter, press the “ice and water” button for about three seconds. Resetting the water filter timer is usually done after the water filter has been changed. The following steps will show you how to change your Westinghouse fridge water filter.

Step 1: Turn off the water supply

Step 2: Take out the filter by turning it 180 degrees anticlockwise

Step 3: Slide the old filter out of the water filter casing and throw it out

Step 4: Get the new filter, unwrap it, and gently slide it into the filter housing. Make sure it gets to the filter connection at the end of the casing.

Step 5: Turn the filter clockwise to snap it into position. Stop turning the filter once you feel it engage as it won’t rotate any further after engaging.

Step 6: Put a glass cup to the water dispenser to check for leaks from the filter casing.

Step 7: Hold out more cups or a bigger container to the dispenser. Continue to flush the filter for three to four minutes

Step 8: Switch the ice maker back on

Step 9: Finally, press the “ice and water” button for three seconds. This will reset the water filter timer.
