Zanussi Refrigerator Error Codes – How to Fix

Here are the error codes in a Zanussi refrigerator:

E0

This code means that there is no error.

E1

When you see this error code, be aware that the evaporator sensor is damaged. There is no other fix than to replace the sensor.

E2

The air sensor for room temperature, which is usually installed on the display board, is damaged if you see this error code displayed. Replace it.

It could also be that the flap of the dispenser is no longer working. Find a tested and trusted refrigerator technician to fix this fault.

E3

The cable for the ice machine is either damaged or is shorted if you see this error code displayed. Fix it by contacting a refrigerator maintenance agent to verify the fault.

E4

The air sensor for the power system board has become defective or has failed if this error code appears on the display. You will have to replace the sensor.

E5

The sensor for the 0 degrees compartment is damaged if this error code appears on the display panel. Since it is damaged, there is no other fix than to replace it.

Er

When you see this error code, check the J4-connector located on the main control board of the refrigerator for damage. If there is none, then check the J4-4, J4-5 and J4-6 connectors found on the ice maker board.

It is also important to check the 15 pin-line connector located on the refrigerator’s main control board. If all these connectors are working fine and connections are good, then check the main control board.

This is quite a technical diagnostic work so contact a qualified refrigerator technician to verify which part is faulty or defective. Then, fix or replace them.

t3

This error code means that the sensor of the ice maker is shorted or open. You will need to run a maintenance check on the ice maker to find the sensor and replace it. If you cannot do this, contact Zanussi and request service or find a good refrigerator technician for assistance.

SY EF

The evaporator fan has failed if you see this error code displayed. It is important to check the fan motor to see if it is still working. Test for continuity with a multimeter between the motor’s windings. Also, check the blades to see if they are still functioning. Replace the fan or the motor if nothing is working.

The sensor of the fresh food compartment is shorted if this error code appears on the display panel. Replace the sensor.

CE

The IM communication is lost so this error code is displayed. Put the refrigerator in service mode to ascertain if this is the fault. Then find a professional refrigerator repair agent to also verify and fix the fault.

OP – Normal

When you see this error code, you know that the sensor of the freezer is open. Check the wire connections and the wire harness. Reconnect any loose wore and replace the harness if it is faulty. But if all these are working fine, replace the freezer sensor.

SY CF

There is a failure in communication in the refrigerator, probably between the main control board and the display board, if you see this error code. Contact Zanussi for service or a qualified refrigerator technician to find the fault and fix it.

SH – Normal

The sensor of the freezer is shorted if this error code suddenly appears on the control panel of the refrigerator. It is necessary to replace the sensor so that it can accurately read the temperature of the freezer.

SY CE

If you see this error code displayed on the display screen, then you know that there is an error in communication. This error in communication could be between the main control board and the electronic display. But to verify this, contact a professional refrigerator repair agent.

SF

This code represents the Super Freeze Mode. It is not an error code unless you mistakenly put the refrigerator in the mode.

P

This code alerts you to the fact that the PCB has become defective.

There is an error with the supply of water. So this error code is alerting you to this.

El

The ice sensor is short-circuited or disconnected if you see this error code displayed. If you cannot verify this and fix it yourself, a refrigerator engineer can do this for you.

F

This indicates that there is a fault with the evaporator fan. Check the fan motor for life and replace the motor if it is defective. Replace the fan if all of it is not working at all.

F1

When you see this error code, then you know that the temperature selector of the refrigerator has malfunctioned. It could also be that the sensor of the freezer has disconnected or is short-circuited.

This error code signifies that the temperature selector of the freezer has malfunctioned. This will affect the ability to correctly select temperature settings for the freezer.

F3

This error code means that the sensor of the refrigerator is defective. The defrosting tends to stop about 80 minutes and there is no resistance in the sensor. This means you need to replace it.

F4

The error code F4 means that the sensor of the freezer is defective. There is no resistance in the sensor or it could be disconnected. Replace the sensor.

F5

The sensor of the refrigerator or the evaporator is faulty if this error code appears on the display. Replace it.

F6

This error code indicates that the refrigerating section of the unit is not functioning properly anymore.

F7

This error code signifies that the freezer section is no longer functioning as it should.

230

The error code means that the 230V voltage is not available or is too low to carry the refrigerator.

12

The error code 12 indicates that the 12V voltage is too low to carry the refrigerator or is not available at all.
