The general consensus on the Koldfront 16-Bottle Wine Cooler is that it just fine for the price it sells at. In other words, it is not the perfect 16-bottle wine cooler, but it really does what it says it can do. And considering how much it goes for, it may be worth trying after all.
Moreover, it is efficient in bring wines to the appropriate serving temperature, features removable racks that are well spaced and scalloped to fit each bottle in, operates at a low noise level, and can sit comfortably in any space a user installs it. Of course, that is with the mind that the unit can only be installed as freestanding unit.
On the flip side, it is quite annoying that the nice LED lights can only be turned on and off when users get to the back of the unit. Really, who places a light switch and thermostat at the back of the unit? Like one will need to move some bottles out of the unit to change the temperature. Definitely, not the kind of trouble anyone wants to go through.
Also, it would have been perfect if the adjustable thermostat had an indicator to tell users what temperature the unit is operating at every time.

Our Verdict
We think the Koldfront 16-Bottle Wine Cooler is a good budget cooler. And that will be after weighing the pros and cons of having the unit.
In terms of benefits, we like the fact that the wine cooler is efficient in its primary role; which is to cool wines and bring them to the right temperature. This means the flavor and taste of the wine will be at its best.
The space between the racks is also another good point we noted. The spacing ensures that Bordeaux bottles with 2.5-inch diameter can fit in properly. And in the event that larger bottles need to be stored, one or more of the chrome scalloped racks can be removed to get the job done.
Nonetheless, a major turn off for us, as many customers pointed out too, is the location of the thermostat and light switch. It would have been just good if these two important buttons were located in front of the unit. Maybe some place on the unit’s door.
More so, the lack of a temperature indicator caught our attention. But we could forgive the inadequacy because of the price. We reasoned that the absence of a temperature indicator could be dealt with when a good refrigerator thermometer is paced in the unit.
Since it comes at a reasonable price, anyone who likes this unit can get a thermometer and ignore the unit’s lack of it.
